Ghostly Concept Text Effect in Photoshop

A photoshop tutorial on how to create ghostly concept text effect.







Step one:

Start by creating a new document in Photoshop. Leave all the default settings except for the canvas dimensions, use 700×400 pixels with a white background.

Select your Horizontal Type Tool, above your screen under the options palette set the font family to Bauhaus 93, 100 pt, crisp and #61C5FF color shade. In a new text layer type your text.




Step two:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow and Gradient Overlay blending options to your blue text layer.










Step three:

Go to Select > Load Selection to add a marquee selection around your text. Now go to back to Select > Modify > Contract by 4 pixels. Then create a new layer and fill the contracted selection with black color shade.







Step four:

Cut the bottom half of your black rounded rectangle. Then under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Gradient Overlay blending option and set the layer’s blending mode to Lighten.
