Heartbeat graph animation with flash 

In this Flash animation tutorial you will see how to use a layers mask to make a heartbeat graph effect in just a few easy steps.

First start by drawing a straight line across the stage as shown below.

Now hold down alt and click and drag some places on the line, both up and down to create new break points and make a wave like line, like the one below.

In the layers panel make a new layer above the other layer with the heartbeat, in this layer create a bit black box out side of the stage to the left as shown below.

Then right click and convert it to a movie clip.

Go up to the timeline control and make a new key frame at frame 20 for both layers, as shown below.

Select the top layer at frame 20 and now drag the big black box across the stage to the other side, then in the timeline right click between frame 1 and 20 and choose motion tween.

Now your box should animate from left to right.

The last thing we need to do is to add a mask to the top layer, so go back to the layers panel and right click on the top layer and choose mask.

Test your movie and you should have a heartbeat animation.
