Image grid effect in Photoshop 

In this Adobe Photoshop tutorial you will see how to apply a great stylish grid effect to an image.

First we will make the grid, this is a pattern so start by making an empty new project with dimentions 100 x 100 px.

Now with the line tool draw with 1 px thickness lines as shown below, in the project.

In the layers panel delete the background layer so its transparent.

Now within the upper right rectangle, (or the space there is) with the magic wand click and make a selection, do the same for the down left rectangle,

In a new layer fill it with a color, like I did.

Now bring down the opacity to about 50 percent.

Now we need to make this we made into a pattern, so go to edit -> define pattern, give a a good name or something to remember and click ok.

Now you can close the project and open up the image you want to apply this effect to.

Make a new layer above the image layer.

Hold down shift and click backspace to open up the fill panel, choose your pattern (it will be placed at the bottom of the pattern list) and click ok.

Last thing we need to do is to change the patterns blending mode, so locate the roll down panel just above the layers panel and choose linear light. and set the layers opacity to about 60 percent.
