Water on text mask effect
This is a simple little text animation effect I just made, I found an old water background image and thought, this could be reused for something, so I made this simple flash tutorial. In this Flash tutorial you will see how to apply a water effect to some text using the mask layer.
First we will have to type in the text we want to add this effect to, you can find what ever interesting font you want in the properties panel.

Now right click the text and convert it to a movie clip. In the layers panel create a new layer beneath the first on and in that layer import an image of some rippling water as I did.

Now we want to animate using a motion tween so it floats over the text we made, So rigth click the water image and convert it to a movie clip. Place it under our text then in the timeline, find frame 60 and right click for both layers and insert a new keyframe.

In keyframe 60 drag our water to above the text, then right click inbetween frame 1 and 60 in layer 2, and add a motion tween.

The later an most simple thing we need to do is to make our text into a mask, so in the layers panel right click layer 1, (the layer containing our text) and choose mask as shown below.

Now test your movie and you should have something like what I did, (in the properties panel on the main stage you can change the background color if you like.
